Use Your Blinker

Use your thinker and use your blinker,
like you know you always should!
Do you know what might happen if you don't?
Well, let's think about what could...

You might be traveling from the north to the south,
and end up with some windshield, right in your mouth!

Or perhaps while driving from east to west,
you could find an airbag in your face and chest.

Maybe if you were driving from west to east,
you might just swallow a mouth full of teeth!

Worse yet you could be slowing to turn,
and in a firey explosion BURN!

Someone behind you without any clue,
could slam on the breaks and run right into you!

Or

Perhaps while turning from left to right
you find youself with quite a fright

When you open your eyes to take in the sight
and find your inside St. Vincent's "life flight"

Or

You could choose to polite,
weather it's day or if it is night

when you only pause long enough to think
"before I turn here, perhaps I'd beter "blink""

So please be considderate of others,
If you're driving all alone or carpooling your brothers.

For you may save someone some pain or grief and that someone may be you,
so THINK before you ACT, yes THINK before you DO.

Now I'm sure there will always be stinkers,
who opt not to using their blinkers,

so please don't be surprised to find
that I get just a little peace of mind

When I blow on my horn and carry a smirk
while I yell out the window,
USE YOUR BLINKER-YOU JERK!

As the Mighty Eagle soars above, she looks with great intent.
She must find some food for the younger ones, from which she has been sent.
Though foe may try to stop her and conditions must be right,
She will not quit, she must not quit, if it takes her half the night.
For she knows that this great task, is hers from the creator.
To provide food for her young, with patience like her made her.

With diligence she seeks and finds, and takes it to her nest.
And then she settles down again, to gain strength from her rest.
This mother eagle reminds me, of a special man in my life.
He was my protector and provider, before I was a wife.
See when I was weak and vulnerable, he went so willingly.
He toiled and worked hard for his young, and paved the way for me.
This man I speak of freely is my father and my friend,
I love him very, very much, and am indebted till the end.

LIFE

We cross the threshold of the birth canal,
and enter the place of lights.
Leaving behind our dark, safe world.

We cross the threshold of infancy,
and enter the place of childish imagination,
Leaving our sole dependacy on others behind.

We cross the threshold of innocence,
and enter a world of pimples and uncertainty
Leaving behind a naivety that can never be regained.

We cross the threshold of teenage exploration,
and enter trhe world of bills,
broken hearts and blame games.
Leaving behind the world of boys, bullies, blonds and books.

We cross the threshold of regret,
and enter a place of memories past.
Leaving behind some shattered dreams, and disappointments,
and we settle for what we've become.

We cross our final threshold when we least expect it,
into a world of eternal significance.
Where we will forever face the consequences of our everyday choices.
Leaving behind ALL that we have ever known.
